Hello Dr. Madsen-Brooks and group members,
My name is Jonathan Shoemaker, I’m a sophomore here at the big blue. My current major is Applied Physics, I know you cringed, its okay I myself do that sometimes. I’m glad to be in this class, hope you all are too. If you remember a guy with a blue and orange mohawk last year, ya that’s me. I run by the rule of “Pics or it didn’t happen” so for a laugh or just curiosity look at the bottom of the post.
Well if you’re still reading, the more about me part is here. I grew up in the LA area and loved it for the large mix of experiences one could have. I was raised with the notion that everything happens for a reason. I don’t mean this in the religious sense. For example if you slam your toe on something it happened for a reason, reason is you didn’t look. Some more things about me, I thoroughly enjoy being the breaker of preconceived notions. This has been the main way I like to view the world and its situations.
Now that I think about it the reason I view the world the way I do stems directly from my mother and friends. I commonly look at news as a way of knowing a topic but knowing that the whole truth. Also gathered that assumption from my mother. The culture my mother came from was a rather resourceful bunch that like to make something out of nothing. My father is in the same boat, although he is quite a bit more lazy. I unfortunately follow suite quite often. Needless to say I gather most information on my own accord rather than specific sources. Most if not all of my “filters of the world” come from gathering information or hearing it from anyone and everyone willing to tell me.
Hope this helps tell you who I am and I hope to hear from you soon.
Thanks
